I’m 34 weeks pregnant! If you missed it, check out my 33 week update.
Fundal measurement: I *think* it was 34 inches
Here’s me this week:
This week has completely flown by!
I had my midwife appointment Thursday, I was honestly dreading it after being a bit told off the last couple times for not putting enough weight on!
We waited for ages to see the midwife. A lady told me in Creole (the local language) what I thought was that the midwife had gone but she will be back in a few minutes. Perhaps I misunderstood!
Anyway, after about 30 mins she still wasn’t back so the midwife who I had with Arthur saw me instead. As I may have mentioned before, she’s a little bit of a dinosaur and very old fashioned! She was quite nice to us this time. As you can see I have put on weight (yay). She did my fundal measurement and I told her that the other midwife said I had been measuring small. She told me my measurement was fine. I think she said it was 34 but then she did check it again and then just said it was fine!
I’m booked in for another appointment in two weeks time. I will have another scan the same day.
I didn’t get to hear baby’s heart beat this time around, as I said, this midwife is pretty old fashioned, so instead of using the machine she used the old school upside down wineglass looking thing (my mum said it’s called a horn!?…I’m clearly having wine withdrawals!!!)
Still getting Braxton Hicks a lot, sometimes it’s quite painful. I told the midwife that I’d been feeling lots of pressure and she said that it was the babies head. Obviously with Arthur being breach I never experienced that!!
Arthur has been really cuddly with me this week and telling me to “sit” a lot. I think he’s realising that I’m slow and tired bless him!!
We’ve had a few no nap days, one where it resulted in Arthur being mega grumpy and tantrum every 5 minutes which was awful. We’ve also had some lazy cuddly afternoons which is quite alright with me, although I would still really like him to continue to nap!!!!
I have been on a bit of a baking mission this week, for no particular reason! I’ve made cookies, shortbread and butterfly cakes (might explain the weight gain!) Mum says I’m nesting! It would be great if my nesting was more geared towards getting organised instead of making us all fat but it’s nice to have yummy treats in the house! Last time round I think all my nesting was used up on getting Arthur’s cot ready!
Next week is Mark’s last week at work, we are all very ready for him to be finished! We then will have two weeks before we go to Mahe. Those two weeks will be full of organising everything in preparation for baby boy!
This week’s countdown to our Caesarian date
Woohoo can’t wait to meet our little guy!
I’ll be back next week with my 35 weeks update!
I’m 33 weeks pregnant! If you missed last week, check out my 32 week update!
This week little boy bump is weighing around 2kg (same as a pineapple, mmmm pineapple!) and is about 44cm long.
Here’s me this week
This week has actually gone quite quickly after me moaning about time going so slowly!! I think having Arthur’s birthday to keep us all very busy definitely helped!
Braxton hicks are continuing daily now, sometimes even a couple times a day.
Kicks are continuing to be pretty painful too!! They are also waking me up every night!!
My sleep in general is pretty rubbish again, therefore I’m really tired and very grumpy!! Couple this with Arthur not napping every day any more (despite definitely still needing to!) and you get a few very long afternoons!!
I also had killer heartburn again last night Urgh!!
Okay, time to stop moaning….no more moans for the rest of the post I promise!!
After being told I’d not put any weight on last week I have pretty much not stopped eating. I will be so surprised if I still haven’t gained weight by next week!
I realised on the 1st July that we could officially start saying that we would be having a baby next month, that was so exciting! Also, a little bit scary! I feel like it hasn’t truly sunk in that soon we will be 4 not 3! I’m sure there is loads we need to sort out but I’m not really sure what!!!
So, it’s time for our countdown to my Caesarian! We will be meeting our little boy bump in:
I’ll be back next week, hopefully I wouldn’t have been told off by the midwife for anything this time!!
I am 32 weeks pregnant! If you missed last week, check out my 31 week pregnancy update.
This week little boy is around 42cm long and weighs around 1.7kg
Weight: 62.8kg (+0kg)
Fundal Measurement: 29 inches (+0 inches) * more on this in a moment.
Here’s me this week!
I feel like I’m looking extra tired at the moment!!!
So, as you have seen, my measurements have apparently not changed in two weeks. I had a midwife appointment Thursday morning and got a bit of a telling off (again) I’m not eating enough apparently. I have no idea why I haven’t put more weight on I have upped my food intake after the last midwife appointment. I have also continued to take it easy as much as possible with a toddler at home!
My fundal measurement…..not changed, I’ll be honest I’m not convinced of this. My midwife appointment was done in a big hurry and I’m not convinced that there has been no change at all.
Anyway I was of course still worried about this.
Luckily I had a scan later that morning. The gynaecologist we saw was fantastic. She was very reassuring and said that baby was growing perfectly well. She also said that it’s probably because I am small (I really am at 5ft 2!)….this is something I have been telling myself and all my family have been telling me but it’s really nice to have a professional say it as well!
She said that to make sure she’d book me in for another scan at 36 weeks just to check his growth. We had this with Arthur as well, due to him being a little small and breach!
In exciting news this little guy isn’t breach yay!
We unfortunately didn’t get a scan picture this time but it was an amazing one, it was absolutely crystal clear…the best one we’ve ever had. We could clearly see his heart beating, his spine and all his little bones it was beautiful!!
This week, little boys kicks have been painful a lot of the time! I am always uncomfortable now, at least it feels like it’s all the time!!
I’ve also had heartburn start to kick in, and a rather extreme case of that happened last Saturday night!
I’ve had some Braxton Hicks which I don’t really remember having with Arthur. One day this week in particular really made me need to sit down and stay down for a while….luckily Arthur was having a nap!
This weeks countdown to our Caesarian date:
I think that’s all for this week! I’ll be back next week!
Ahh the memories, or perhaps the lack there of. Crawling in (sometimes literally) at 3am. Staying in bed till midday on Sunday, feeling like death warmed up, watching loads of trash TV.
This Saturday, I was up at 3am, feeling like death warmed up. But had there been the reward of an all night party first….no.
Welcome to my big fat pregnant Saturday night!
Prepare to be jealous*
*you won’t be jealous at all!
We had watched back to back the last two episodes of game of thrones season 5. That was pretty wild, not gonna lie! Even stayed up past 9pm, pretty good going for a lady in her third trimester if you ask me!
I went to bed with a bit a headache, not too dissimilar to those old Saturday nights! Thanks in part I’m sure to the
god awful music playing at the fair down the road. (The fair was in aid of Constitution day which was Thursday, it’s usually held on Mahe but this year it was on Praslin)
But, I was asleep by 10, living the dream!!
I then woke up at 12, and then 2. Headache getting worse and worse and with outrageous heartburn. Finally at 2:30 I dragged myself out of bed and took some paracetamol and got back into bed waiting for the painkillers to kick in, they didn’t.
Headache and heartburn then joined by hot and cold flushes.
The heartburn was so bad that I couldn’t actually lie down.
Pregnancy really is all glamour, all the time isn’t it!?
At 3am I took a shower, it didn’t help.
So by 3:30 I found myself downstairs, chugging water and watching storage wars on the history channel in a haze feeling very sorry for myself like a former drunk me back in the day, but very grumpy and generally, being a big fed up pregnant lady!
At 6ish, Mark came down and found me asleep, I couldn’t have been asleep for long, I’d seen inside a lot of storage units!! I went back up to bed.
Mark got up with Arthur and I stayed in bed till 8.
I spent the rest of the day very tired, grumpy and wishing I was in bed watching trash TV.
Instead I played trains, stacking cups, watched too much Peppa Pig for any sane person, been climbed all over by Arthur and been given many kicks by baby boy bump.
Oh and I got to hear that
god awful music as the fair has continued all day today too!!
So, as you can tell, I’m not bitter or grumpy about my Saturday night at all!!
How did yours compare?
