I’m 34 weeks pregnant! If you missed it, check out my 33 week update.
Fundal measurement: I *think* it was 34 inches
Here’s me this week:
This week has completely flown by!
I had my midwife appointment Thursday, I was honestly dreading it after being a bit told off the last couple times for not putting enough weight on!
We waited for ages to see the midwife. A lady told me in Creole (the local language) what I thought was that the midwife had gone but she will be back in a few minutes. Perhaps I misunderstood!
Anyway, after about 30 mins she still wasn’t back so the midwife who I had with Arthur saw me instead. As I may have mentioned before, she’s a little bit of a dinosaur and very old fashioned! She was quite nice to us this time. As you can see I have put on weight (yay). She did my fundal measurement and I told her that the other midwife said I had been measuring small. She told me my measurement was fine. I think she said it was 34 but then she did check it again and then just said it was fine!
I’m booked in for another appointment in two weeks time. I will have another scan the same day.
I didn’t get to hear baby’s heart beat this time around, as I said, this midwife is pretty old fashioned, so instead of using the machine she used the old school upside down wineglass looking thing (my mum said it’s called a horn!?…I’m clearly having wine withdrawals!!!)
Still getting Braxton Hicks a lot, sometimes it’s quite painful. I told the midwife that I’d been feeling lots of pressure and she said that it was the babies head. Obviously with Arthur being breach I never experienced that!!
Arthur has been really cuddly with me this week and telling me to “sit” a lot. I think he’s realising that I’m slow and tired bless him!!
We’ve had a few no nap days, one where it resulted in Arthur being mega grumpy and tantrum every 5 minutes which was awful. We’ve also had some lazy cuddly afternoons which is quite alright with me, although I would still really like him to continue to nap!!!!
I have been on a bit of a baking mission this week, for no particular reason! I’ve made cookies, shortbread and butterfly cakes (might explain the weight gain!) Mum says I’m nesting! It would be great if my nesting was more geared towards getting organised instead of making us all fat but it’s nice to have yummy treats in the house! Last time round I think all my nesting was used up on getting Arthur’s cot ready!
Next week is Mark’s last week at work, we are all very ready for him to be finished! We then will have two weeks before we go to Mahe. Those two weeks will be full of organising everything in preparation for baby boy!
This week’s countdown to our Caesarian date
Woohoo can’t wait to meet our little guy!
I’ll be back next week with my 35 weeks update!
I’m now 22 weeks pregnant.
I totally forgot to do my pregnancy update last week! But if you didn’t catch my 20 week update check it out!
This week baby boy is apparently the size of a spaghetti squash (nope, I don’t know what that is either!) but he is around 28cm head to toe and weighs about half a kilo!
Here’s me this week:
Bump Measurement: 37.5 inches (only +1 inch in three weeks which shocked me as I feel so much bigger!!)
Weight: 59.4kg (+3.2kg in one month Wow!!!!!)
Getting lots and lots of movement still from our little guy which is still amazing! I love watching my tummy move from his kicks!
I had a midwife appointment this week and all was normal! Nothing exciting to report there, booked in to see her again in a months time!
We’ve been out and about lots the last couple of weeks as Mark has been off work! It’s been great to be doing lots of walking around and of course it’s good to have the energy to do that too at the moment! It’s good timing before tiredness kicks in again in the third trimester!
One day last week we went to the island of La Digue and probably walked a little too far but I slept very well that night and was fine the next morning!
It’s been good to remind myself that I can (and should be) still be walking good distances!!
I’m also about to start an online pregnancy fitness programme which I’m really excited about! I’ll be blogging more about that soon!!
April is the hottest time of year in Seychelles and it really has been hot! It can be hard when it’s like this to drink enough water when you’re not pregnant so it definitely is harder to keep on top of it being pregnant (and running after a toddler)
This week I had my birthday so I took the opportunity to dress up a little which I never do these days so here’s me and the bump a little dolled up!
I thought I’d got over the cravings stage but this week I have not been able to get enough of grapefruit and lemonade together! So yummy!! I find it interesting that all my cravings have been for sharp tasting thigs!!
Still no name decisions have been made!!!
I’ll be back next week with my 23 week pregnancy update!
I’m now 19 weeks pregnant!
If you missed it check out last weeks update!
This week Seychelles baba is as big as an heirloom tomato (whatever that is!) which is more than 15cm crown to rump! Also baby can apparently now start to hear my voice which I love!!
Here’s me this week:
36.5 inches (+0.5 inches from last week)
This has been a big week for our little Seychelles baba!!
The kicks are getting crazy, I mean like kicks we can actually see them! it’s amazing!!
Yesterday we had our anomaly scan!! Great news is that our little one is nice and healthy in there!!!
We also got to find out the sex
Yes, Arthur is going to have a baby brother!!!
We are really excited to have two little boys! I hope that they will be best buddies!
Mark has a sister and I have a brother and so I kind of assumed we would he having a girl so I was shocked when the Sonographer said it was a boy!
Mark has been saying all along that “he KNOWS it’s a boy” so he’s feeling pretty smug haha!
Arthur was as good as gold at the scan yesterday so we are very proud of him too!!
We are so happy to be able to start saying “he” now instead of “it”! Feels like we can really start to bond with our little guy!
Now we just need to think of a name!!!!!!
I’ll be back next week with my 20 week update!
Im 14 weeks pregnant! This week our little Seychelles baba is around the size of a lemon approximately 9cm!! Apparently it can now suck it’s thumb and pee too….awesome! Here’s me this week! Not a great shot again I know! But I’ve given up on anything better until we move!! Thought I’d start doing some measurements which makes me a bit nervous sharing but will be good to look back on!!! I’ll update the weight after I’ve had a midwife appointment (every month at the moment) as I don’t have scales at home. Weight: 55kg (+2kg in 2 months weight at 1st midwife appt 53kg) Bump measurement: 32.5inches (round my tummy at my belly button. Wish I had done this from the start but usually I’m somewhere between 26-28 inches here!) I had a midwife appointment yesterday. Felt like a bit of a waste of time to be honest. It wasn’t with my midwife (but it was the lady I had with Arthur…a proper battle axe). She tried to tell me there wasn’t enough folic acid in pregnacare and that I should be taking more. I wasn’t impressed with that, she had no idea clearly!!! Arthur is still giving lots of kisses and cuddles to my bump! He’s also started giving it raspberries, cheeky monkey!
Metal taste has gone thank goodness!! I’ve had a few twinges of carpal tunnel…I had this, totally inexplicably to all doctors around 10 years ago and and to have it operated on both wrists which sucked. I had it a little when pregnant with Arthur but not too bad. I know it’s common in pregnancy but I really don’t want it to develop fully because it’s so horrible! For a couple weeks now I’ve had a pain in my left leg starting at my lower back it is really uncomfortable and no matter what I do I can’t get it to go! Very annoying! Anyway that all sounds very miserable! I’m not. I’m enjoying my little bump!
Still wanting red onion…..specifically as part of a tuna melt!!! Diet coke! I’ve always loved diet coke, but when I was pregnant with Arthur I was totally off it so I’m more than happy to be treating myself to the odd can!! Crumpets…still! In amazing and bad news all in one go, there are crumpets in the little international shop. Actual Warburtons crumpets! The bad news is that a pack of 6 cost me around £4!! Ouch!!! In my opinion it may be the best £4 of Marks money I have ever spent, he disagrees!!!
Ummmm, not really any dislikes I can think of this week woohoo!
