How to watch TV like a toddler {The Ordinary Moments 15} #4
This week we are back inside for the ordinary moments.
Despite living in the Seychelles, we still have days where we slob around being lazy, snuggle up on the sofa and watch TV.
I’ve gone through cycles of beating myself over Arthur watching TV. I’m feeling comfortable with it these days (for now anyway). I know we do lots of other stuff and we spend lots of time outside so watching some TV isn’t the end of the world.
Anyway, I am starting to notice that there something different in how a toddler watches TV to how we watch TV.
So if you fancy giving it a go, I have a little guide for you
- 1st of all you have to shove the remote in Mummy or Daddy’s face, if they don’t respond straight away whack them with it*
- If you’re not allowed to watch TV, have a tantrum and throw yourself to the ground in rage.
- Sit in the least comfy place on the sofa
- Pull all the cushions off the sofa and sit in the middle
- Stack cushions and sit precariously close to the TV
- Empty a wash basket and insist that you watch TV whilst being sat in it
- Watch while being upside down, preferably in downward dog yoga pose!
* I am currently sporting a bruise or two from this!
What do you think? Anyone got any to add to this list?
Haha that’s cute. Z used to regularly want to press the buttons himself and end up switching the whole telly off!

Ha ha this is great! I feel the same about TV but I’m okay with it at the moment, because the weathers too horrible to do much at the moment. My little boy moves the footstool right infront of the TV and climbs up onto it and that’s his spot to watch TV! Xx

Ha ha I remember those days. I used to put Martha on her potty in front of the tv when we were potty training. Sometimes we’d be there for quite some time time. …
This is so funny! We have had some of those positions here! Not as adventurous as your little one though 😉 Loving the first picture x #ordinarymoments

Ha ha! Yes! My two year old is actually more ‘normal’ watching TV than his 5yo sister, though – she leaps about, lies upside down, has to strip off her clothes, loads of random things! Funny to watch, and you’ve captured some great moments there x

Haha that’s so funny! And I completely agree about sitting as close as possible to it- mads and LL would get it in it if they could. 😉

Hahaha this is brilliant! Hes so lovely!
Haha so cute. It’s true, especially about washing baskets. Sometimes my kids watch telly sitting nicely on the floor or on the sofa, but normally they’re sitting in a silly way. #ordinarymoments

These photos are just so cute!
M used to be like this but now he’s a PROPER slob: he gets a blanket and installs himself on the sofa. He doesn’t move, barely even blinks. He could stay there for hours, at any point of the day, if I let him. It freaks me out little and I also go through cycles of beating myself up about it… I just try to make sure he gets out lots too!

Love it. You did forget the press your face right up to the TV so you can only actually see a small proportion of the screen. #brilliantblogposts

What a brilliant post so funny, sorry for the delay in commenting, been crazy busy this week. This is so like my little boy, although he is now growing out of the precarious phase, but his little sister is going into it. Just spot on, great post #ordinarymoments
