18 weeks pregnant
I’m now 18 weeks pregnant!
Apparently little Seychelles baba is around the size of a bell pepper (over 14cm long crown to rump!) and is doing lots of arms and legs movement!!
If you missed last week take a read of my 17 week pregnancy update
Here’s me this week:
Measurements
Bump measurement:36 inches (+0.5 inches from last week)
Weight: 56.2 kg (plus 1.2kg)
Feeling:
I’ve been feeling lots of movements this week which is so lovely! I’m so happy to have reached this stage because feeling those kicks is just the best thing in the world! It totally makes up for the less nice things about pregnancy!!
I’ve also been having a bit of pain in my c-section scar. I’ve done some reading and spoke to my midwife (as well as some lovely people on twitter!) and all seems pretty normal, it’s just down to my growing bump!
We are really excited as at my midwife appointment yesterday I was given my scan date, it’s next Thursday! We can’t wait to see our baby again and hopefully find out that all is well in there and fingers crossed be able to see if we are having a boy or a girl!!
I had a bit of a realisation yesterday too that I need to carry Arthur less! We were out and about a lot yesterday and it ment lots of picking him up for me and by last night I was aching all over it was not nice!!!
We’ve not thought really any more about names. We thought all along that we’d wait to look until we knew if we were having a boy or a girl! I’m excited to start looking properly again next week!
That’s it for now! I’ll be back next week with my 18 week pregnancy update and the results of the scan!!
How exciting that you will know the sex so soon! I didn’t find out with my two but I love hearing what other people are having. And helping them chose a name. Are you having another cesarean? I had two (both elective, the first was breech, the second just took to long to come….) and recovery the second time was a LOT easier. For me, anyway….

That’s great to read lovely that it was a quicker recovery second time round! I’m not sure about Caesarian this time around I imagine it will be the case! How early did you find out that would be the case for you? Xx
Not until the week before she was born. I planned a vbac but said I didn’t want to be induced. When she got close to two weeks overdue I agreed to a cesarean. It made it easier planning childcare for our older daughter, having a date for the birth 🙂

Thanks lovely lady 🙂 xx
So lovely … what a good memory store you’re creating with your pregnancy diaries. Yeah, feeling the kicks …. takes me back memory lane. It is really wonderful. I’ve forgotten how it feels now, I think i’ll take it in more, next time round. And the carrying less of your other child, I hadn’t thought about that … so much to learn, and another thing to keep in mind for the next time.
Thanks for dropping by my blog earlier, ‘theme mate’. 🙂 #aNoviceMumcommentluv
Ps: how did you add your, ‘confirm you are NOT a spammer’; i’d like that on my blog but I’m not sure how to do it.

Yeah it’s amazing how hard it becomes both physically and emotionally too, it makes me sad that I can’t just pick him up as easily, and it’s going to get harder too as I get bigger!!
It’s a plugin called gromap anti spambot it massively helped the amount of spam I get 🙂 xx
Thanks so much for the name of the plugin, I really appreciate it. I now just have to get it working. 🙂

Good luck with the scan. Our youngest girl crossed her legs at 17 weeks so we had to wait for the 22 week scan to see whether she would be a boy or a girl. Hope yours is less shy.

Aghhh hope we don’t have a shy baby too that would be sad haha! Good that you had scans so close together though!! Xx
For various reasons I have had scans almost every ante-natal visit for all three. I am very lucky!

Aw lovely update and such a gorgeous bump lovely! So nice when you feel the movements too isn’t it? I was the same with my C-section scar – you can’t help but worry can you? Glad to hear all is going so well, thanks for linking up with #MaternityMondays
