15 months

This month has just flown by. Which is weird because I feel like we have been back from the UK for ages but a month it is!
Anyway, a lot of this month has been about getting back into routine again after our trip. Getting back into Mark being back at work, and therefore it being mostly just Arthur and I during the week days. Also getting back into looking after a house again, 5 weeks away is a lovely long time to take a break from housework but it’s been sucky going back to that!!

Anyway, I digress….back to Arthur.

I’m delighted to say that signs of fussy eating that seemed to develop a little last month have disappeared *touch wood it stays that way*
At the moment he is in fact quite the opposite and appears to be on a bit of a frenzy with eating, his legs have apparently hollowed out!!
Arthur learned while we were away where food is kept, (I.e the fridge or a cupboard) and now, either goes into the cupboard and brings you what he wants for you to give him, or takes you to the fridge until you open it and get him something!! At our house most of the food is kept in the fridge freezer to avoid attracting ants, pretty much only tins are kept in cupboards and they are up high….so mostly we are getting dragged to the fridge!! It’s quite cute but if anyone is at the house they must think we don’t feed him!!!

Arthur has been sleeping mostly fine (because our definition of “fine” now is 5:30am *sobs*) but this last week or so nap time has been pretty funky. He has been waking up at least once during his two hour nap. There has been a tooth come through, one of his canine teeth (mark tells me that’s what it is anyway….the pointy-er ones (not like vampire ones, obviously!) ) so I’m hoping that things will settle out again now it’s come through.

Arthur is so chatty now, lots and lots of mama mama mama…..only when he warns something though haha. We have dada, a very clear “cat” we’ve also had “dog” a couple times but not super clearly. He is saying lots of “yes” but it’s more just “sssssss” with lots of nodding.

He is such an affectionate boy and loves to give kisses (big open mouth sloppy ones) and cuddles/stroking accompanied by lots of “ahhhhhh ahhhh ahhh’s”. I love that he’s like that.

Since we’ve been back I’ve done my best to keep busy with Arthur. I’m not going to deny that I’ve had a few battles with myself over Arthur watching TV. I’m coming to terms with the fact that it’s ok, there are times when I need to get stuff done or I’m just knackered and in need of 5mins or so!
On the whole though, we’ve really done lots. I’ve been getting out practically every day for a walk with the pushchair, I’ve even thrown some running in with the pushchair too!
I’ve taken him swimming and for a walk round the vallee de mai.
We’ve also had some fairly pants weather and so I’ve taken to the wonders of the internet and looked for play inspiration indoors….I’ll write a separate post about those adventures I think! But on the whole I’m happy with how it’s going during the week when it’s just me and the boy!

Weekends we always make sure to have at least one good trip out as a family whether that’s to the pool, the beach or wherever and it’s always the best time of the week for me!

That’s it for now I think! As always I’m excited to see where this month takes us, I’m loving life with our little toddler.
